About the artist
Liz Tiranti was born in East London, UK in 1969. Taking a BA in Ceramics & Textiles at the renowned Art School Goldsmith College, London, she now lives and works in Brighton - dubbed the cultural capital of the South of England.
A skilled maker, the designs of Liz are playful and inventive. Add that to her use of colour and you have the defining feature of her work, 'I want my sculptures,' she says, 'to be harmonious and full of vitality. To fill a space with spirit and optimism and bring these qualities into the everyday environment. It's soul work - from mine to yours."
The early career of Liz was as a community artist producing large scale mosaic artworks. Her enthusiasm ensured participants were both fully involved in designing and making the artwork whatever the community - school, youth group, prison. The result? A widely diverse portfolio of work. The experience has been invaluable in developing an ability to inspire others to be creative while picking up many practical and organisational skills along the way. Whether making or facilitating it's about connecting.
Inspired Mosaics Studio was established in 2002 and she began to broaden her client base to win both commercial and private mosaic commissions. The briefs of her clients have been responded to with intuition and originality and this shines through in her portfolio of bespoke commissions of decorative architectural projects.
Liz has now been focusing on her sculpture portfolio since 2013 and is beginning to exhibit and sell in the UK and overseas.
